For adding a camera, once you have logged in you can click on the camera tab and then click on add new asset.
Here you will find the table to populate with the camera details. These include the name you are giving the camera, details of the location of that camera as well as the model and serial number of the camera. If you do not know all the details then you can put in TBC and add that information in later.
You can then additionally upload a daytime and a nighttime image and then connect it to other assets, such as a switch or a server or a patch panel depending on whether these have already been added into your CCTV Logbook. You can then select the review frequency – weekly or monthly – before saving the camera. It will then appear in the asset table.
The process of adding a camera should take very little time and once you have added all your cameras you will be underway with managing your CCTV system better. For example, if you are a business owner it means that staff that may be responsible for day-to-day administration, and be called upon to deal with camera installers or maintenance staff, can easily access the information they need to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
